The U & I System, (You and Eye,) is hardware design by J. Morgan Puett of Mildred’s Lane and The Mildred Complex(ity); an ongoing systemic intervention in FACTORY. Ceiling and wall hooks, eye-bars and stands, brackets, shelving and more become modulating elements for any room in a household or FACTORY.
This Ecology Hanger is inspired by early environmental symbols from the early seventies. The hanger is handmade with quarter inch, welded steel, 17 1/2 “ X 15 “, and everlasting. Activate it with anything or use as a wall embellishment.

“I first encountered Querls in the 1915 do-it-yourself book “The Boy Mechanic.” The Boy Mechanic’s Querl is a kitchen utensil, useful for mixing (twirled between the palms of the hands), mashing, or juicing. The Versatile Querl/Queer-All re-imagines this antique kitchen utensil, embracing it’s ambiguity and versatility as a metaphoric form of queering, and the simple design of the original Querl is augmented by inspirations from Shaker furniture, antique tools, and sex toys. The Querl/Queer-All is ready to be put to use in the domestic environment, and is finished with a food-safe finish.”
Gina Siepel is an interdisciplinary artist based in Greenfield, MA. Her work explores cultural understandings of nature, gender, and American history, through the production of objects and collaborative experiments in public spaces. She has exhibited extensively in the northeastern US, and has received funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Berkshire Taconic Foundation, the Puffin Foundation, and the Northampton Arts Council. She has been an artist-in-residence at Skowhegan, Sculpture Space, Hewnoaks, and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship. Gina holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase, an MFA from the Maine College of Art, and teaches in the dep’t of Studio Art at Mount Holyoke College.
The painterly quality of Caroline Wallner’s work is one of the signatures of Tivoli Tile Works. Each piece of pottery is hand-thrown, hand-glazed, and hand-painted, some with the woodland creatures that inhabit Caroline’s surroundings—fox, owls, deer. Each piece is uniquely lovely and simply useful. Tivoli Tile Works celebrates everyday experience. As Caroline says: “My pottery is made to use daily: to serve with, to eat and drink with, to handle, to wash, to display. I love the simplicity of it, the functionality is important. The cups are the first thing you go for in the morning and the last thing you go for at night.”
